Usually when a vacation comes to mind, warm sun and cool sea breezes are the first images that cross our minds. Most of us want to be lost in paradise, sipping on tropical fruity drinks, laying in the sun with the sounds of the ocean lapping at the shore, ringing in our ears.
Not all great fun filled vacations are the ones spent at the beach. Sure, the beach is nice, but after you have swam, soaked up the sun and walked in the sand, there isn’t much else to do. Why not discover another land. A land full of lush green hill tops, majestic waterways and an over abundance of culture. The place I speak of is, Ireland. There is so much to be seen and done, you will have to keep coming back.
If history is what suits your fancy, Ireland’s capitol, Dublin’s cup runneth over. The National museum of Ireland is home to many treasures. From it’s Celtic and Medieval art, to it’s Viking inspired heritage. There are many things to see and learn from throughout this awesome museum.
If your tastes are a bit more refined, a must place to visit is the National Gallery of Ireland. This gallery may be home to only a small collection of European paintings, but the names on these masterpieces are with out a doubt the most impressive. From Picasso to Monet to Vermeer, the works inside this building are sure to impress even the biggest of critics.
If nightlife is what you are after, Dublin has plenty. There are bars and pubs in every nook and cranny of this city and you would be doing yourself a favor to try as many as you can. These pubs not only serve up the best pints in Ireland, but they have some of the most delicious meals to sample as well.
Whether you are planning a short trip or an extended stay, you will never get bored while in this town. Be sure to do some planning before visiting, though. A little bit of planning will make your stay much more enjoyable. If you are in need of accommodations, be sure to find Dublin hotels, prior to your arrival. Having your room already taken care of will help to relieve any stress of traveling that you may have. You may also want to make sure that your transportation needs are met as well. Unless you plan on staying and doing all of your sightseeing all in the same area, you are going to need some form of transport to get around the city.
